It has been almost a year since I quit playing FFXI. (Hahah sounds like I am at some sort of meeting). Anyway, hello old friends - if any of you are left hehe...
For the past several months, I have been playing D&D online. Great game, btw - lots of fun. As of late, I have missed the writing, and the telling of my stories. DDO isnt really a game where you tell epic tales of your travels - at least it didnt seem this way to me.
Anyway, I have decided to start writing again. I plan to start a blog talking about the trials of a young entrepreneur, just trying to make it. Ill probably create a new screen name for this, and post it here.

Those of you closest to me knew this day was coming soon. It is with a heavy heart, that I resign as an Officer in LastStands. As I wave goodbye to Vanadiel, I look back at my (not so illustrious) career.
I never beat Vrtra, and got myself a kill-Manteel. No hat trick of the 3 kings. But I take comfort in all the happiness I helped to bring, and dreams that I helped fulfill. While I may never have accomplished all of my dreams, I relish that I helped others to find strive toward theirs.
One of my proudest moments was when an old friend said this:
Some of you wonder why I am quitting. The simple fact of the matter is that I no longer love Vandiel. This game, this world of magic and monsters no longer brings me joy and happiness, only anger and frustration (more on this later). I no longer love this game. I have nothing but love for my family in LastStands. I have tons of respect for my peers and friends in other linkshells across Kujata.
And I think that is the message I want to send to my peers:
Treat each other with respect, and the world will be a better place Don’t forget that there is a real person on the other side of that keyboard. Maybe if you treated that little animated character more with a little respect, we would all get along a little better. You don’t have to like each other, but for fuck’s sake, respect each other. Good in theory, bad in practice, right? I always practiced what I preached, and I hope that that single fact earned me respect.
To my LastStands, my online family:
It has been my honor and privilege to serve you. I hope that I have lead you to a place where you wanted to be, and helped you have fun. We have been through many tough times, and like true friends, you stuck with me. For that, you will always have my friendship, even if I no longer play ffxi.
At this time, I would like to give thanks to a few of my fellow Bards: Faranim, Russta, and Vilurum. You have all helped me to become a better Bard, and have inspired and taught me in many ways. Your stories and lessons are an inspiration.
I may be on for the next however many days until my subscription runs out, taking care of some logistical things. If any of you are ever in Hawaii, please look me up on AIM, and I can show you around or something (offer not valid for Recollection members). Best Wishes Kujata! |

In other news, we did NW Apollyon. For some it was our first encounter with King type monsters. I may have a screenie or two, but being the busy little Bard that I am, I am always running off assisting with pulls or healing or whatever. Gotta dig through folder when I get home. In all honesty, I thought we would get our asses handed to us. I mean, I just assumed we would have trouble since fighting Dragons require some different tactics. But it wasnt too bad at all. Raz and I did a shitty job explaining the fight to the new people, and had inferior party setups, which cost us quite a bit of time fighting baby Fafnir. But in the end a well timed Mijin Gakure finished off Fafnir, and allowed us to move on. With minutes to spare, we made it to the top, and owned those jokes of NQ behemoths. The KB clone, seemed to be resisting gravity on us. But it wasnt so much of a big deal, as Razel killed his second quasi-king with Mijin Gakure.
Days like this make me really proud to be a part of this group of friends. Off the top of my head, only 5 of us had any experience fighting Fafnir, though almost everyone has come to Asspid and KB camps. Yet we won. Ill admit to the fact that its not like winning claim and beating a real king, but I think there is a lot to be said for being able to come together from almost certain death, and win, in a foreign circumstance.
I think getting over this hurdle known as Chains of Promathia has been a big step in this LS, though there have been casualties along the way. |

I think I want one. Now that I have another bard (who acutally has Minuet merits) in the LS, Im always with the mages. Ok lets figure this out, for just currency.

Assuming I can sponsor one run per week. And I get the equivalent of a 100 currency item per run. Thats 677M gil, assuming that I can freely trade currencies, and can borrow the extra currency for the final refund. That right? Sounds like I need to do dynamis for the rest of my live... If I can collect that much currency by sponsoring, Im sure we can chase the key items np.
Dalmatica
I chased that fucking turtle for a month and a half. I had liek 40-50 TODs. I a bunch fo Aspids. Sherra got a couple, TBC, OS, New Company all got. ANd now its in Japan Time. I lost TOD when I had to wake up at 5 AM for first window, woke up a little before 7, to find that no one was in VOS except my TOD mule, and Sherra had title. Once it returns to Hardcore NA time aka midnite HST / 5 AM EST, maybe Ill go after it again. Until the Sherra has free reign of turtle. Whore. I guess I need a Vermilllion Cloak in the meantime.
Manteel
oh boy...Ok lets see how many summoners I have between LS and TNK. Leda, Fuhma, Headspace, Ggrab, and Odion can use Ballfade. I got a few good kiters. About 10 Monks and Blms always show up to Kirin, so I think we got enough on the adds, not counting the scores of random melees. Vrtra is all about adds right? I should be able to keep everyone organized more or less. Ill probably run Main alliance. I think having Widowmaker running the Add alliance(s) will work. Hmm who are my Bards? Me Aryan Odion.

Pants would be pretty nice. And it would fit very well into my +MP no -HP. Body is just for looks I suppose. OFC we need to finish off getting the LS sea before we startup Dynamis again.
Shiekh Gages
The one item I may have a shot at lol. I got about two dozen sets of items. Need to find space for more HQ bugard skins lol. And I gotta buy some Gold thread and ingots. 1M for commision should be enough huh?
Some sort of MP cape
Id like to replace this Blue Cape with something. I think like an Errant Cape would be ideal, but thats simply too pricey. Oh and I would love a Warlock's Mantle. Probably only a couple of those on the server though. Astute Cape might be kind of cool.
Earrings
I think on the second round of limbus coins, Ill get a Loquacious, but there are so many people who still havent gotten their first items, looks like that will be a while too. Hmmm. a Musical Earring would neat too. Way to pricey, though. Maybe for 10 Wind/String. I think the Fast Cast wins outright, regardless of the MP. OFC when I beat Apocalypse Nigh sometime this week, Im probably gonna take the Magnetic Earring.
HOW AM I GOING TO PAY FOR ALL THIS SHIT?
I got about 3M on me. A buddy owes me 1M. Im pretty sure I can make 1M per week with Shinomori, if I put in the effort. I think Shin has about 5M total on him and his mules. Problem is that I share him with a friend. He is 91+3. Should I take him to 100, or make money how it is?
I have 99+30KS. Zero BMS. I did like a dozen Peacock Charm BCNM. Got jack shit. Im probably going to KS99 with either TheSpirits, or run some for LS, whichever comes first. Tourach has 159 BMS. 26 KS. But Ninja is only 37. I need to level that to 40 to use the BMS. I can either pay BLMs or do KS30 gimped.
If we let people do their own limbus runs, I can sell off my share of coins.

Kirin hates me, and only gives me Shining Cloths. Well I have been collecting Nobles Tunics for months now. I have four...and thats after two were stolen from LS (by Recollection Drama FTW). Razel can take one to use on his WHM which he NEVER uses. Harvvu will get one, since its better than sitting in the LS bank for no reason. If I sell two of them, what should I do with the gil? Hmm maybe I can parlay them into some cursed gear. Realistically I really need Osodes, but, Id be interested in trading for some comparable crafting materials, like Hides or something. |

Recently I havent been enjoying myself as much as I should have been. Consequently, I really havent had anything to say. Rebuidling a LS sucks sometimes, though occasionally I am rewarded with words of kindness from others.
I have been levelling Ninja to 40, just for me, and started crafting with an account my friend gave me.
But completing Chains of Promathia has felt so rewarding. Lets face it, the ring is nice. Sea access is nice. But if you spam enter through the cutscences, I think you are missing out on the beauty that is FFXI.

NIN RNG WAR/NIN BRD BLM WHM
I borrowed a Vermy from Insyder. Man it was nice...I REALLY want one, but i cant afford 20M...
WAR used Ranged on the weapons, but ran in for WS. RNG used stun bullets. A couple snafus were worked out during our dry run, and pretty much the second run went according to plan. Thanks to Wid Ien and Klef for helping. Sea is soo close I can taste it!
Lilbit got a nice Manteel via desynth a couple weeks ago. Lots of these things running around now. Glad to see on in my Ls for a change.

I havent been updating much, and now that I look back at it, it isnt just because of the lack of excitment in ffxi as of late, but its the lack of happiness. I havent been happy running things recently, and well, things finally started to change on Sunday, for better or for worse, less than a week after we were to do our first wyrm with Bloodstone.
Some of my friends may be wondering what the new yellow pearl some of my friends and former friends (yep you read it right) have been wearing.
Obviously everything below is my point of view. And it has drama ofc. But its probably a boring read if you arent on my server and dont know who these individuals are.

I dont know when I will return to the bright eyed little Taru who was simply thrilled to be there killing Olla Grande. But I hope to see him again soon. |

| Prom Vahzl! |

Beat Prom vahzl last night. Was tons of fun! I know Im behing most of
the server's HNMLS leaders, but at least im enjoying myself along the
way with my friends. Naturally >.>, it took longer to gather
people together than to get to the top. 3 of the 4 groups won the
fight, but the 4th group got unlucky and the SMN used his 2 hour, right
as he died, so they decided to go back with Atral Flow avilable. Hehe,
and I lost someone along the way. So we gotta go back again at some
point.
The BCNM was pretty easy, although we lots due to AOE vs Taru on the
first fight. Second fight the AOEs didnt rape us, so we won easily,
with about 75% MP. As with all of these BCs, best idea is to go in and
do a dry run without Meds and 2 Hours. Get a feel for the fight, and
fix it.
My PT was RNG NIN NIN BRD BLM WHM
Strat wasnt too complicated. Tank, when the NM uses Impale or w/e
Throat Stab move, other Ninja vokes it off. On boss 1 at 20%, second
aggros, Bind (go Iceday!) + Shadowbind, Voke, and finish off Boss 1
with JAs and TP. SV Elegy Mambo March Ballad then own Boss 2.
Widowmaker said it helped a lot apparently, so at least I know I added
some value. I think we didnt Bind #3 when it aggroed, and just had Kung
tank it.
There would be screenshots, but well, both of my PCs are on teh brink.
I think the fast PC needs a new MOBO. The slow PC hopefully jsut a new
Vid card. ; ; |

Hard to balance time between chasing ground kings, COP, Dynamis, and Sky and still have time to do other fun things.
Ive been trying to push people through COP, at the cost of my own progression. Im still waiting on a good time to get around to doing Prom-Vahzl. I did get to help Neira and Vashs who beat Airship!
LOL how did Genjuro survive?
I think we raided sky like twice in the past two weeks. While last week's raid was prety unproductive, this week was nice.
Dartanis is not levelling PLD. Using it as WAR???
Money money money money mooooooooneeeeeeey.
And Kirin was very kind to us for the second week in a row. LS/BS went 0/6, then went 3/3. ^^ While this stupid armor make one person really happy, why does it tend to make several others very sad? Regardless, grats to Neira and Vashs on W Legs. |
